Delaware & Hudson
Jeff Tyrell
This version of the Delaware & Hudson is really a freelance HO scale layout which is set in “anywhere” Upstate New York. This medium sized layout is now my fourth layout, which took about 2 years to complete.
It is set roughly around the time that Conrail was formed. This time period can be evidenced by the number of locos and rolling stock that have been hastily re-stenciled to show their new owners.

The Delaware and Hudson also still operates a few passenger trains, and they can be spotted from time to time on the pike. And the two red, white, and blue locomotives painted by the D&H to celebrate the nation’s bi-centennial of 1976 can also be spotted from time to time.

For further information on the Delaware & Hudson Railroad,
you can visit the D & H Historical Society Website at:
http://www.bridge-line.org/

However, freight service is still going strong. There is a lot of movement of cement and general freight from several D&H customers – as well as interchange freight from other roads for the “Bridge Line” to deliver up into Canada.
