January Meet Recap

There’s a saying that holding an event once makes it an experiment, twice and the it’s a precedent. But three times makes it a tradition. Our last three January meets held with the NJ Division at the Grace Episcopal Church’s auditorium in Merchantville, NJ is becoming a tradition complete with coffee, donuts, swap tables, a model contest, and more.

November Meet Recap

 

With the successful running of the 2019 MER Liberty Bell Special by your Philly Division, we are once again headed to the Community Center located along Naamans Road, just south of the vast Brandywine Town Center Shopping Mall in Wilmington, DE to celebrate National Model Railroading month. Having just finished up a large but enjoyable convention, this year’s meet was not a joint meet as was last year, so the numbers were down, but the enthusiasm was still up! June Meet Recap

On Saturday June 8th, 2019, the Philadelphia Division returned to the Newtown Township Municipal Building meeting in the recently renovated township meeting room.  The morning session began with our Annual Business Meeting hosted by Division Superintendent Charles Butsch. Charles welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. Charles mentioned that minutes in audio format (.mp3) from the 2018 Annual Meeting are posted on the Division website for anyone who wanted to review them. April Meet Recap

Saturday April 6, 2019 saw Philadelphia Division gather at the Philadelphia First Church of the Brethren located on West Cheltenham Ave, in Wyndmoor, PA. Our timetabled “meet for the day,” was subtitled, “Wyndmoor Trains.” There were approximately fifty present including some new faces and many guests both from neighboring NMRA Divisions as well as model railroaders interested in finding out more about our association and fellowship. In addition to the refreshments, coffee and donuts, there were tables with items for sale as well as models to view or examine for personal enjoyment.

January Meet Recap

Merchantville Station

For the better part of a decade, our January Meet has been held with the NJ Division and this year was no exception. About two dozen of us traveled to Grace Episco-pal Church’s auditorium in Merchantville, NJ for this year’s edition. Our gracious hosts as usual provided refreshments—coffee and donuts— as well as swap tables, a model contest, and more.
