The Alpine Railway is an N-Scale 2′ x 3′ German freelanced paradise layout, featuring a main line, inner siding line, and 2 bridges. The layout was acquired from a previous owner – whose father had hand-built the layout a long time ago, as a western US pike – and completely transformed. The Alpine Railway depicts a small mountain town served by the DB (Deutsche Bahn) or Federal Railroad of Germany, and specializes in N-Gauge DC locomotives such as those made by Minitrix, Arnold, Roco, and Fleischmann. Many buildings on the layout, such as the castle and townhouses, were found already assembled, while others were built straight from the kit. While certainly not realistic, the catenary features Kato catenary poles and thin guage metal wire for simplicity, and indicates electric locomotives only operate on the main line, as the inner siding is used for diesel locomotive staging and switching purposes.
