April Meet Recap

 

To the left is a photo of the Southampton Station originally located on the long-abandoned Newtown Branch of the Reading Company.  This structure, built in 1982 and slated for restoration, is located at the corner of Street Road and Second Street Pike, a few blocks from our meeting place.

 

 

 

 

On Saturday, April 1, 2017 the Philadelphia Division met in a new location, the Southampton Community Center in Southampton, PA in Bucks County.  Filling in for Superintendent Joe Bergmaier was our able Assistant Superintendent, Charles Butsch who greeted approximately 50 assembled members and guests.

Call for Nominations!

Every spring, the Philadelphia Division holds its annual election for Board of Directors. There are seven total Board positions, four of which are open for election or re-election this year. The term is for two (2) years. The Board then elects officers from among the Directors. One or two board members may be stepping down, so this is your chance to become active. If interested, please contact a member of the nominating committee: Joe Bergmaier, Mark Wallace, or Bill Fagan. If elected office is too big a step, consider volunteering to work on a committee. June Meet in Newtown Square

On June 11, 2016 the Philadelphia Division meets in a new location, the Newtown Public Library in Newtown Square, PA.

Our early spring meet returned to the Elkins Park Train Station, on April 9, 2016. Located on the SEPTIC Warminster and West Trenton lines (historically the North Penn Branch of the Reading Company), the station building itself has been unused by SEPTIC for over ten years but the trains still stop there.
