Jonathan Black – Bear Mountain RR (HO)

 PHILADELPHIA DIVISION MEMBER 

Jonathan Black’s Bear Mountain HO scale RR. Circa late 1800’s. Jim Thorpe PA. The Lehigh and Susquehanna and the NY & PRR Canal RR’s.

Layout is DC and measures 12×16. Excellent scenery and structures, mostly hand crafted.

This layout has since been dismantled. Jonathan has moved and plans another narrow gauge railroad.

  1. In 2015, our school had a club layout themed during the 19th Century, but it was a West Pole module.
    This is a reference to the time modeled on Jonathan Black’s Bear Mountain layout, but his is bigger and has a truckload of scenery. It’s located way up in the Poconos near Jim Thorpe, in the golden age of Amtrak. Today, Burlington Northern passenger trains pass through the area on I-476, the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
