Robert Putnick – Horseshoe Curve Branch Line (N)

 PHILADELPHIA DIVISION MEMBER

The Horseshoe Curve Branch Line is an N-Scale model of the Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, PA, operated during the time period of the Pennsylvania RR, and later the Penn Central. Built on a 5′ x 8′ benchwork, this layout is focused on portraying the immense shape of the Curve as apposed to being precise in the height of the tracks above the reservoirs, etc. Because the tracks return to complete the circuit of the table, the layout is thus a branch line including the Horseshoe Curve. Staging for locomotives and rolling stock can be seen in the forefront of the layout. The entire layout is DC-powered, with individual power packs controlling each of the four tracks.

Please check out the Horseshoe Curve Branch Line on its website, and be sure to look for the Horseshoe Curve Weekly, which is a news-like post that is published every Saturday, highlighting action seen on the layout with a picture and its corresponding description.
