Reading Company Technical & Historical Society Fan Trip

This Fan Trip from Philadelphia 30th Street Station to Harrisburg will take place on November 8th, 2014. It will be done with Amtrak equipment. It will travel over Old Reading Main Line tracks. The plan is for It to run from Philadelphia 30th Street Station to Reading. There it will run over city tracks to where The Outer Station once stood. From there it will go South to Lebanon Valley Junction and go West over The Lebanon Valley Branch to Harrisburg. The return trip will again use The Lebanon Valley Branch to Reading. From there it will use the Beltline track to Birdsboro. At this point it will return to the Reading Main onto Philadelphia. Most of these freight lines, Now Norfolk Southern tracks, have not seen passenger equipment for over 30 years.

This round trip will cost $145.00 and include a box lunch. Folks from the Reading area can travel on a reserved bus to and from Philadelphia for an additional $30.00.

Passengers should arrive at 30th Street Station by 9:00 AM for organizing and pre-boarding. The trip will depart at 9:45 AM and return at 6:00 PM.
